The ones that only take in-kind donations may not accept your car, but they are still worth a phone call. You will get a better tax deduction if your car is used rather than just sold at an auction, and charities that take in-kind gifts are possible prospects for actually using your donation.

This Catholic university does accept gifts of personal property and actually can make offers for an IRS bargain. While they do not accept any car, the American Lung Association does take most of the cars, trucks, RVs and other vehicles that have a working engine.
